I just want to know how many questions you can miss and still get a 20 on the real DAT?

For instance, when i took Kaplan's midterm, I missed like 7 problems in G-CHEM and 7 problems in 0-Chem, and the scored turns out to be 18 for both sections.

So i suppose you have to get 4 or less to stay at 20?

Thanks

It actually varies in each test, but since each science section only has like 30 questions, you can only miss about 4 or 3 and get a 20. You can miss about 10 on the PAT (90 questions) and get a 20, but if you miss like 40 questions you still get about a 17. these are estimates, but as you can see you really need to know your stuff to break the 20 mark. it is a bell curve. The three science sections are scored together so you have to do well in all three sections to get a high TS score, they dont average the numbers.

You can get a good idea of how it is scored from the ADA testing booklet/DAT registration booklet. In the back there is a section all about the way the exam is scored and a sample score table. It is a pretty steep curve at the top. Usually any score over 20-21 in any section is pretty good.
