I bought PETERSON's 2000

Verval reasoning==65 ?s
Physical Science==77 ?s
Biological Science=77 ?s

How is the MCAT scored? how much for each right answer?

It was explained to me that the mean of all test takers is assigned an 8 and that a 9 is one standard deviation above the mean and a 7 is one standard deviation below the mean.
 
You're close, but not quite right. THe standard deviation varies from test to test but hovers around 2 while the averages, as you mentioned, are around 8. THus, a 6 would be 1 standard deviation below and a 10 would be 1 standard deviation above. THe exact averages and st. deviations are listed for each section on your score report.
