I have 2 questions.

1. How is the PAT weighted by the schools?

I did very well on PAT (26) and my AA is 23. I was just wondering if the PAT is seen as more of a threshold like "Meh.. as long as he or she gets over 18 or so, that's alright with us". In a way, sort of viewed as pass/fail. Or do they actually think "Holy cow, look at this guy's PAT score!"

I could see how the higher the AA or TS, the greater the positive reaction from the schools, but I am not sure about PAT.

2. Are there schools out there that value a high PAT score moreso than other schools? Which schools?

this is what I always understood the PAT to be.... since it doesn't count into your AA, IMO, any score 19 or above is 'practically' the same. It means you got perception

PAT can die.
I dread this section

I'll trade you my 17 for your 26.............if only this were possible

My best guess is that the PAT is more of a pass/fail thing. I hate the PAT but I think it is easy to score well on it if you get the right test prep material (CrackDAT). The PAT sucks. I think the old way of testing with carving was more subjective but relevant, much like the Canadian PAT. Hmmm, maybe Canada has us beat on something other than hockey and bad weather.

carving sucks. If you are complaining about PAT, be glad you don't have carving. Also, there is a reason why all American schools and many of Canadian schools do not look at your carving school.

I don't think having a very high PAT score helps that much. I did very well on this section as well (29) and don't think it really made much of a difference in my overall application. I think having a strong AA will be much more important in your application.

This depends entirely on the school. Some will ignore PAT, some will make sure you achieved a threshold score, and others will give it considerable weight. OSU counts PAT as 10% of your overall applicant score. Given that overall GPA is 30%, a 3.6gpa/27pat would be as competitive as a 4.0gpa/18pat (all other things equal). In other words, a 2.25 increase in PAT score is equally as beneficial as a 0.1 increase in GPA which is why I spent a lot of time preparing for this section.
