hi guys
My AMCAS just became active yesterday and I am feeling nauseous realizing how late I am applying. I know I'm ganna get mixed opinion about this, but is there anyone who knows *actual individuals* who have been accepted at the school of their choice with a low overall GPA (3.3), good science GPA (3.6) and a medium-high MCAT (33)? AND especially applied rather late?

If you could tell me their stats and the name of the school, it would be greatly appreciated

thanks a lot guys
I feel like I'm living a nightmare :scared:

i already know someone with great GPA and 35 MCAT who didn't get into his first several choices last cycle- Columbia, Tufts, etc..

There's a lot more to it than those two numbers. Don't worry about being late, you're fine, like everyone else said. Take some deep breaths!

is it really considered late this early in the game? my goodness do adcoms think that everyone will apply june 1st? you should really relax and take a deep breath. release, relax, relate. 🙂 🙂

heaven forbid you having to go to a school that isnt one of your top choices

😀

Oh yeah, and seconding the previous posts. Its not that late! Schools typically arn't finished with ED apps till september. Get your secondaries out and completed quickly and your timing will likely have little to no effect on your outcome.

wow there. stop with the fire storming of "take a chill pill" I'm just saying if you had just put in your application and knew that your schools would not even get a glimpse of you until september, AND that majority of 2005 applicants already applied in june and July... ? what if you were in my shoes right now, wouldn't that make you at least a bit queasy?
😳

I don't think this is necessarily true; though from reading SDN you'd think so 😉

Relax. Loads of people haven't even taken the August MCAT, yet.

don't worry about being late, most people i talked to last application cycle didn't get their's out till about this time and they were fine.

hey, 2 years ago i submitted my amcas on august 16 ... and i don't think it was that big of a deal, so like all the other posters have said, relax. the important thing is to get the secondaries in timely -- unfortunately, i turned almost all of mine in on their deadline, and i do believe that was responsible for my getting waitlisted everywhere. but, i ended up getting into pitt, and while not my top choice, things worked out. bottom line - it wasn't the august amcas verification that prevented me from getting my top choices, it was the nov-jan file completes and the jan-march interviews. good luck!

I am practically in your shoes timewise. It is not too late.
