I am hopefully going to shadow an osteopathic doctor in two weeks so I can put it on my primary application and then I can submit primaries. If I dont finish filling out my secondaries until september/novemeber how badly does it lower my chances of getting in?

Mostly gonna depend on what your stats are like, but Sept isn't too late it seems.

Like ^ said, it really depends on your score but you should be okay. Also, if you haven't been verified yet I would get on that. Submit your primary now to one school that you aren't particularly interested in.

i'm going to be applying with 24 MCAT (but have another planned MCAT), 3.70 cGPA 3.64 sGPA. if i did the same thing as OP, do you think I would still be fine?

Submit your primary a week or two before you are going to quit shadowing. And then add your experience while it is processing. Because verification is going to take 4-6 weeks at this point.

It is something I would do to get in line for the verification process. Then come back later to add the end date.

Quick Question: If I submitted my primary app to AACOMAS and applied to 23 schools, will the verification process be slower than an individual who applied to only 1 school? I didn't think so, but I keep seeing SDNers posting "apply to one school just for verification".

Well, once verified AACOMAS will release your application to all schools. Each school varies in whether they download and review your application immediately or use a cycle (will download and review applications say every Wednesday). That means all 23 schools have immediate access to your application. That's not to say the applicant to 5 schools will be faster. There may be a school who simply does not review applications right away or uses a different system. S

The suggestion to apply to one school is so that the applicant can get through the processing phase through the AACOMAS which takes the longest. It's suggested to use one school that you apply to one school while you wait on important information such as an MCAT score in order to not have to jump additional hurdles to schools that perhaps require an MCAT score to be complete and eligible for secondary applications. I have seen some applicants receive a "hold" for submitting without an MCAT, so doing this minimizes red tape.

Ahh, thank you emagavin! My app was complete when I submitted. I didn't realize I could make edits to my PS after submitting (and before verfication), and my PS was what was holding me back from hitting Submit! Now while it is processing, I have a few weeks to make any edits if necessary while they process the transcripts.

Sorry Im confused can I submit my primary so it goes through processing and then add in activities later? I will be shadowing an osteopath on the 11th. Should I wait until then to submit my primary?

Once you submit, it will be "Processing" for 4-6 weeks until it is verified. You can add activities and make adjustments right up until its verified. So you should submit now so that you'll be verified ASAP!
