Hey everyone!

First time poster here. I'm having some trouble with LORs and they're going to be submitted next week at the earliest. I just got verified last week, and I'm wondering where you guys think I am in terms of "lateness" for schools. I have no idea about what constitutes late but just browsing these forums a bit it seems like most everyone was verified in late June. I'm concerned that if I'm late in the game, would it be worth spending money on the top schools?

I have no idea why verification took so long :/ I'm guessing that many others might have also submitted mid-July. Anyone in a similar boat?

Thanks for all the help 🙂

SDN gives a pretty skewed perspective of what is a normal application timeline. Try and finish your secondaries asap because time does matter, but you're not in a bad position and you won't be shut out by any schools as long as your stats are competitive. Best of luck with everything

Well, I was verified mid-August, and got my committee in a week later, not late June. We are all going to be fine 🙂

There's no use worrying over something you can't change.

Thanks a lot for your answers. Do you think I should quickly turn around secondaries, in deference to the 2 week rule, or since a letter isn't in, I can take more time with them? I don't anticipate needing all that much time because I've been pre-writing, but would schools see that I turned in a secondary earlier and give me a plus, even if I'm not complete?

Just another lowly premed here, but I'd say go for quality over speed (just not too slow)
