Now that some of us out there are planning to roll on the " interview trail" ...I am planning to ride a bus when I can, drive when I can, roll when I can 🙂 anything that will get me to the interview but I need a little tip on FLYING , I have a few interviews clustered between Dec 12 and 19th but I need to wait to see if I will get more. The question is how long is a the " safe - period" after which air fares start to soar? 1 month, 2 months! I know the earlier the better but did anyone come across a figure? ( liek we offer our best deals x- days before your intended travel date? ..any help from those who are travel-savvy of you will be appreciated. thx

If you book your flight less than 2 weeks before your trip, you're going to pay premium prices.

Generally 1-2 months in advance is enough to get lower fares.

Fares are high right now. A recent price increase among all the carriers happened a few weeks ago because of soaring fuel prices. (Jet fuel is now $5/gallon.) The current airline prices are likely to increase even further next year.
