Submitted secondaries by mid August...
I've been trying to keep track of what's going on by using
the school specific decisions thread...but...
But the wait is killing me.

How long before the rejections start rolling in?
Do schools reject you as they go through your app or do
they wait until the very end of the cycle to start sending out rejections?

My mind is so focused on the rejections...

This answer is variable. There is no answer to your question.

You may get a reject in a few weeks, and an interview invite tomorrow. You never know.

Stop this. Easier said than done but try to be confident. 🙂

best advice I ever got about the application cycle was "Don't hold your breath."

That said, some schools will reject you within the week. Others will take months (think ~6 months).

...and yet others will subject you to the feared 'silent rejection'. Just do your best to keep busy and check your statuses online no more than once per week.

Even though they're pretty inconsistent, the schools will generally tell you that review of secondary materials might take 4-6 weeks. Now, some schools will have a turnaround time of several hours (like Arizona where they give auto-invites to IS applicants) and some schools might make you wait until spring without any notice. I'd say wait patiently until end of September, and if you don't have any news until then, then you can panic. But the reality is that you'll pretty much hear back from several schools by then assuming you applied to more than 1 school. So sit back and relax, cuz there are ppl who finished secondaries in June/early July and are still waiting 😎

And you're silently rejected and no one is around to hear, are you still rejected?

I'll be reading applications prepared in August right through October. Then I start on the secondaries written in September.... Rejections could come out soon or they might be held until very late winter. Interview offers will flow steadily from this month through Dec or even through March depending on the school.

Patience....

Don't think about it. It will drive you stir crazy. Be worried if it's December, but now it's still relatively early.
