Hello,
I'm an MS IV who is interested in EM. I did one EM rotation and found that most attendings are very young. In fact, I didn't find any attending over 50. I'm wondering how long you can work in ED before being burned out and what do you do then. If you have any opinion, I'll appreciate it.

Go to the FAQ. The burn out question has been awnsered ad nauseum. And there are plenty of people over 50.

That's because at age 49 all EM attendings are required to participate in Carousel or the Sandman will get you... 🙂

Wow, I haven't heard that reference in a really long time, though I've heard that somebody is planning on remaking that movie.

I'm glad someone caught it...

as far as the remake it is in pre-production. Here's a link... Remake

Yeah, nothing new in that link that I've heard. Last I heard was that production was being pushed back yet again as Singer gets more and more juicy jobs. After Superman, will he go back to working on X3? Famke Janssen won't be young (looking) forever, you know.

Singer is one of those few directors who put out consistently cool films that I almost always want to watch.

edit:
His IMDB bio says he's the cousin of actors Marc Singer (the Beastmaster and starred on the TV series "V") and Lori Singer (cellist with the dreamy eyes on TV series Fame and Man With One Red Shoe). It also says he's taking some time to write some issues for the Marvel ComicUltimate X-Men.

I just took a look at the link 'cause I loved the original. Turns out that I went to high school with one of the guys (Skip Woods) whose name has been tossed around as a screenwriter. Small world.

Take care,
Jeff
