Sorry, this technically isn't medical-related but me and my friends were talking today about how it seems like a lot of people in our class don't wait a long time between first dating someone and getting engaged. This is relative to our friends that are outside of medical school. They seem to wait longer.

So my question is, how long was the time frame from when you first became a couple (not when you first met) to when you became engaged?

I'm wondering if my class is unique or if this is a trend at medical schools.

Sorry for the options, I've been doing pediatrics and I'm in month-mode.

Friends for 2years, dated almost 3, engaged for 2 more, married for 9 so far and happy as ever.

dating for 4.5years and planning/have spoken about marrying towards to end of medical school.

Dated for a few months

Then lived together for 3 years

Then engaged for a year

Now married over 3 years

Dated about 2 years, lived together about 2 and a half years, engaged 6 months or so, married a year and a half

Dated for six months, engaged/lived together for two years-

married for eight years.

When you know, you know. 😉

well....

we dated off on on through high school, then lived together for five years before getting engaged, this lasted about a year, now we've been married for three...

dated for four years, of which we lived together for 9 months, then engaged for 13 months before marrying. Been married now for ~ 6 weeks

Dated for ~2.5 years, engaged for a year, married since April.

My wife and I knew on date #1. Talked about it withing a couple months. Made the engagement official at 7 months. Married at 9 1/2 months. Married 9 1/2 years.

My father proposed to my mother on the 3rd date. Married within 3 months. Now married over 40 years!

If the relationship is meant to be, time doesn't matter!

that is amazing! It must be a family thang 😉

Me & my bf met right before college & have been dating for 5 years. We hope/plan to be married in 3-4 years. Meeting someone so early in life is a blessing and a curse I guess.

Friends for 5 years.

Dated for 2.5 years before he proposed.

Will have been engaged 1.5 years by the time our wedding day rolls around next summer.

I've had a crush on him since the first time I met him (which I remember clearly). 🙂
