How long do I have to wait until I am sent some kind of acknowledgement that my application is complete from schools that do not have an online status check? Then, how long do I have to wait to get interview invitations?

And.....go.

I'm right there with you. I applied to an ungodly number of schools and I am still stuck in this stupid holding pattern. Just one people! 1 freakin' interview. That's all I want. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!

If they don't have a specific policy (like Emory/John Hopkins etc) I would call them after 2 weeks of sending in all the documents including LORs....but wait no more than 4 weeks....(Emory asks to hold off for 6 weeks and JH says not to call altogether) But hey it is your application and it is your responsibility to check on it so i would say be proactive......4 weeks is tha max I waited before I started calling the schools (in most cases I called 2 weeks after) ...

Good Luck

As for when interviews come, it's one big mystery. Admissions committees seem to have an interview randomizer so that one cannot reliably anticipate anything. Some schools can offer interviews within a week or two, some can take 4 months.

I think they're playing applicant yahtzee while knocking a few hard ones back. All of those serious looking pictures on their websites are really actors who have been well paid with all of our app fees.
