How Long do you study?

It's all about quality, not quantity. Many of my professors post their slides online, so I usually only attend 1 or 2 of my 5 classes each semester (only mandatory ones). I find it really boring sitting in class, I usually end up dicking around on my laptop or phone. Most of my pre-reqs were early (before 11AM), and the last thing I wanted to do was walk a mile to class after a hard night of drinking to go a see a smug teacher lecture about something I probably couldn't care less about. I really enjoy reading, and I study my textbooks like hawk, while supplementing that information with the online slides.

^This is exactly what I figured out early on freshman year and adjusted accordingly 👍

about 0 hours per day

the two days before a test.... about 10 hours a day or more

For most classes I put in between 1-3 hours a day most days. This adds up to a lot of studying during the school year and is probably part of why upon returning to school(non-trad) my hair began to rapidly fall out 🙂

Some people are super geniuses and remember things right away, and that is fine.

Some people, like myself need to study quite a bit to remember things, and that is fine too.

There is no penalty for needing a lot of time to study.

Not even gonna reply to that.

30 minutes every 2-3 days, if that.

Are we talking about efficient study time here? Or are you on facebook, SDN, watching TV, listening to podcasts, etc at the same time?

I put in about 3 solid hours/day while in med school (~6 in the days before an exam). Undergrad was probably less than half of that.
