So I am writing supplemental essays for many of schools.
It is basically another bunch of personal statements for me..
Should I take the supplemental essay as serious as the personal statements or am I just spending too much time on it (3-4 days)?
How much time do you guys spend on writing supplemental essays?

can you not answer this question yourself? this is your application to professional school.

No need to be mean... it depends. I think you shouldn't kill yourself over the supplemental essays because you want to get them in as soon as possible because admissions is rolling basis. I would suggest spending a day or two writing and a day editing. That's how long it takes me to write my essays. You will notice some supplementals have the same or similar questions so you can often use the same stuff for a couple.

Thank you for your input. English is not my first language and I guess I am just trying to perfect the grammar part at least 🙁
I should get it going!

So it depends on the school. Some supplementals are super long like UNC or UCSF but others are pretty short like Creighton and BU. Also as Ali said above you can sometimes uses pieces of supplementals you have written for new supplementals. For the longer supplementals I usually take 2-3 days to write them then have some friends look at them and give their opinions.

How unnecessary.

Anyways, I typically write the first draft in a day, and then sleep on it so I can edit it the next day. If you know your grammar isn't the strongest, defs sleep on it! It also often helps to print out your copy and mark it up by hand... you'll be surprised what you'll catch the traditional way vs. editing on a computer. As Ali mentioned above, some of the schools have similar questions so you could ask your school's writing department for help editing one version of the similar questions and then just work off that to make changes for specific applications. Good luck 🙂

not being mean, i asked an honest question. this is your application to professional school. you should be as serious about the supplemental app as you are about going to dental school. i would say have it ready to turn in within 2 weeks.

@DodobirdFiance asked a question and the answer you provided did not at all contribute to resolving the question. You could have said your few cents about turning it in within 2 weeks in your previous post and then it wouldn't have come across as rude.

Anyways, I can't imagine taking 2 weeks on each supplementary application but to each their own.

Wow I guess I was taking a long time to write the supplemental 🙁 I sure hope it isn't too late to send it this week! Thanks!

Yeah maybe I should try to print it out. I think that's a great idea on the grammar part haha 🙂
Thank you!

If it was an honest question, I appreciate your response. I just thought you were saying that I'm too stupid to figure this out on my own when I just asked for opinions.

I'm sorry if it came off a little rude. you should be taking it as serious as a heart attack. i think turning all your apps WITHIN 2 weeks is an appropriate amount of time.

"You, with your words like knives
And swords and weapons that you use against me
You, have knocked me off my feet again,
Got me feeling like a nothing
You, with your voice like nails
On a chalk board, calling me out when I'm wounded
You, picking on the weaker man
You can take me down
With just one single blow
But you don't know what you don't know
Someday I'll be living in a big old city
And all you're ever gonna be is mean
Someday I'll be big enough so you can't hit me
And all you're ever gonna be is mean
Why you gotta be so mean?"

I spent maybe an Hour

Even the "long" ones are like 1500 characters.

I'd rather not over think that and turn a simple question into something it's not.

I say write what comes to heart make sure it doesn't have simple mistakes and send it off.

You can only reword three sentences so many times.
