How long does it take to review an app?

I received an e-mail back from Nova on 10/24 saying my app was "currently being reviewed". On 10/30 they received the last of my LORs. I haven't heard anything else. It seems that it shouldn't take that long to review an application once they get to it. Do some schools just review and re-review your app without ever putting you on hold? It seems the only school that actually gives you a time when you should expect a decision is DMU. Do no other schools do that and how often is okay to contact each school for an update? If you were complete early have you heard back from all your schools by now?

Nova having all your LORs has nothing to do with them inviting you for an interview-- they will invite you to interview even w/o them (so the data they received all of them wouldn't matter). They invited me for an interview within 2 weeks, but I was extremely early in the application process-- my secondary was in by the beginning of August.

My apps were all in early, and I have heard back from all the schools (except for one, which was surprising because it was the only instate I applied to). I'm not sure if Nova sends rejection letters out-- but I want to say I don't think so. You could always call them if you'd like -- hopefully you'll hear good news 🙂

I submitted my secondary the first week of September and I know that several people got interviews almost immediately. I guess that's what makes me nervous. My husband hasn't heard anything yet either. I'm starting to think Florida doesn't like us or want us there. 😛

It honestly depends on what school. I haven't heard a peep from PCOM and I was complete by the beginning of October. I mailed my Touro NV app in on a monday and heard on a friday I had an interview. Touro NV and MI are incredibly fast, heard within a week from both. They must have been reviewing before the application was complete

I feel you EEL08! I've been complete at 6 schools for almost 8 weeks and still heard nothing 🙁 Oh well . . .

I haven't heard from Nova yet either... I've heard back from four out of ten schools so I'm expecting to maybe hear from some of the other schools this week since if I remember correctly I've been complete for a month now.

Oh man NSU...I had the worst experience ever with them last year. I looked in my old post history to find the link to show you but it only went back to the end of January and I couldn't find older. It was a nightmare. Basically they kept "misplacing" my app and being like "oh we found it, we'll review it tomorrow". This happened for like 2 months. They kept saying "oh that's weird, I wonder why it hasn't been reviewed". While on SDN people would send them in and like 2 days later get an invite....when mine had been there for months not even being reviewed (and everything was there). I would call, they would supposedly call me back the next day. This never happened. So I had to repeatedly call and call. Finally she basically reviewed it on the phone with me and goes, Ok we will offer you an interview, I'll have whoever call you who schedules it. Then I talk to another person who goes "yeah, we have no more spots left, sorry...we'll try to squeeze you in". Never happened. I am still so bitter about that.

Wow! Sounds like it's going to be a fun several months. It's not that I want them to summarily reject me of course but if they're going to do it might as well do it sooner rather than later. Or if they're going to rereview my app every once in a while just tell me I'm on hold and I can focus my attention on other schools. I think my plan will be to contact each school every three weeks to find out what's going on. Hopefully that won't be too annoying for them. 😀
