How long does prerequisite last?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I think any pre-req classes you took at an accredited 4-year college/university should be OK.

3 of my prereqs were taken between 2004-2006. I was emailed back from a school I was going to apply to today telling me those 3 would need to be retaken. I don't think that is going to happen. Bummer.

My earliest prereqs were done in 2008 and I did not stop me from getting accepted this cycle. I don't think there is a universal expiration date on your credits. You are probably better off asking the schools you are interested in applying to if they have a cutoff.

*Edit* thanks for reviving a old post....

The earliest pre-requisite I had was in 2009 and I had no problems.

Apply to different schools.

If you obtained your degree, there's usually no restriction. It differs from school to school. Some tack on 5 years. Some tack on 10 years. Some waive it if you are a teacher. Some waive it if you've taken an extensive amount of upper level courses. There's no one size fits all.

Helpful thread. My earliest pre-req is from 2007 (I had family circumstances which made me miss ~2-3 years of school and transfer) but about half are from 2009-2010. I did the rest in 2016 and will finish up this year. I hope that won't be a problem.
