I interviewed at Univ. of CT in the first week of Dec, and the dean said that if I didn't hear back in 6 weeks to give them a call.
I tried calling, and left a message for them to get back to me (no responce).
Has anyone experienced this?
I can't seem to reach the admissions office, and I have no patience left...🙁

UConn has one of the worst admissions offices I have experienced. They will get back to you after you forgot you called.

Reading that makes me feel a bit better about my experience with them. I never got any word that my application was complete, waited like 6 weeks from when I sent the secondary and letters, called and called and finally got through and they were rude. But I did get an interview invite soon after, so I can't complain too much 😉 I have heard good things about the interview day though. I'm going in early March. How did those of you who applied find the interview? Thanks and good luck!

Bump.

Anybody? I'm interested too!

I thought it was really relaxed. Although my interviewer flat out told me he was new at "this whole thing".

You get the faculty and student interview out of the way, and then the day starts to drag.
You have lunch, a tour, a mock class session *(this is no big deal). Then you chat with the dean one on one (I was so tired by this point that I just wanted to get out of there).
It was very low key, but at the same time it made me wonder how they distinguish between us if most people coming through are nice and well spoke. Oh well 🙄
Hope this helps a bit and
Best of luck to you!

My interview at UCONN was low stress last year. The format is short group meeting with Dean, 45 min. with a faculty member, 45 minutes with a student, lunch and tour as a group with a student, mock PBL session, and meet with the Dean.

I was part of the post-bacc program so I can't comment on the length of time before hearing something. Post-bacc interviews are done in the Spring.

There was a committee meeting this week, but I have no idea how many applicants were reviewed or when those applicants interviewed. I hope you guys hear something soon.

If you have any questions, PM me. Its a great school!

Could you give me a little bit more info on the PBL session? I.e., what goes on and how might I prepare for it?

Not sure if this matters, as I've read on interviewfeedback that this portion won't count anyway.

you really don't need to do anything to prepare. It is a shortened PBL session, run by a student, and had absolutely NO influence on what the admissions committee sees about you. Its more to get a flavor of how things are run. I found it useful for both evaluating uconn and for evaluating other programs with pbl.

So my UCONN interview is next week. What do you do at the get-to-know session? Someone said that was the hardest part of the whole interview.

Thanks.
