I thought we could start a thread to keep track of the time between submitting the application to Pharmcas, and having the application verified and ready to send to schools. I just pushed the button, but I'll come back to update once my application has been verified. Has anyone's submitted application already been verified? Posting:

Verified: ?

That was fast. I submitted at noon, and by 1:30 they had verified my transcripts! I don't know if this means my entire application is verified...but I think it might!

Hi!

Did your recommenders submit their letter online? I am still waiting for one. Thanks!

Two of my recommenders have already submitted their references, and one is still outstanding. Since Pharmcas doesn't send applications to the schools until August, I thought it would be fine the submit my application for review. Also they said it could take up to 5 weeks...but apparently mine did not! I also sent a "reminder" to my third reference, and asked that he get it done before August.

Im confused here. whats the deal with submit for review and actually senting your application? Should I submit my app for review even though Im not done with the perosnal statement and Im still waiting for a recomender?

No man i dont think you should. Reviewing here means that they go thru every info you put in and if there is any mistake they inform u to correct it ( like they informed me about discrepancies in my transcript)

So you beter put in your essay and recommendations before you hit the big fat button.

Whoa, everyone's already submitting applications already?! A lot of schools aren't on a rolling basis, and some schools even think that submitting by September is early! And I think you need all of your LORs before you submit it, and once you submit it you can't change anything. Am I missing something here? You guys are scaring me :scared:

It amazes me how many people on this forum don't actually read the directions on Pharmcas:

"Two weeks after you e-submit your application, login to your application to begin checking on the status of references sent to PharmCAS. "

and

"If one or more of your evaluators is unresponsive or declines your invitation to submit a letter of reference on your behalf, you may edit your evaluator contact information on your PharmCAS application before or after you e-submit your application to PharmCAS. You cannot make edits to your evaluator’s information once the evaluator’s reference is received."

Thanks for putting up that quote. It says you can edit their contact information, but will they be able to submit their LOR after you submit it? It seems weird if they would let you, because if they already sent in to your application or got everythign together, they might not want to add something to your application and some schools don't like getting your application materials in multiple mailings. I've talked to admissions people who say they want everything in one mailing.

Pharmcas starts sending materials after August 1. As long as your reccommendations arrive by then, it does not matter. Pharmcas will accept LORs from your designated writers after submission. The idea is that you could sit down, enter all your coursework, PS, etc...designate LOR contacts, and push submit. Pharmcas will not send the application until it has your transcripts and fees. The LORs can be received at any point in the admissions cycle.
