I did a little bit of research on pharmacy schools and majority of them have pre-professional studies of 2 yrs and then 2-3 yrs of professional studies to get Doctorate of Pharmacy...HOwever,I have my bachelors in bio. and I was wondering how does it work for bachelors students? Is it 4 or 2 more yrs of pharmacy?I'll really appreciate for any feedback...Thanks

It's 3 or 4 years of pharmacy school. Most schools are 4 yrs, but there are some accelerated 3 year programs.

definitely 4, there are a handful of 3 schools.

2 would have been nice, but then it would cease to be doctorate status and just be a Master's of Pharmacy.

having a bachelors doesn't change anything except give you extra points for them to consider accepting you. the trend is that most people have their bachelors by the time they enter pharm school.

3 for some, 4 yrs for most. You may be able to waive out of some courses in your first year because you have a BS and probably took some...

After bachelor's degree, there are 3 or 4 years of pharmacy (professional) curriculum. 3-year schools I've done researched on are University of Southern Nevada, Sullivan University, Pacific University (Oregon), University of Pacific (California), Albany College of Pharmacy (New York).

It could be 3 or 4 years depending on the program. For instance, I applied to a program in VA that is 2 years + 10 months (UACP). Either way the total amount of time spent in school is small compared to other professional programs. You just cannot beat pharmacy in that respect!

HaHa I was wondering the same thing! Oh well at least the thread is getting attention. Although, I think this kind of thread is cut and dry. I mean there aren't that many differences in programs as far as length is concerned, its either 3 or 4 years after undergrad. Simple right? 😉

Also, I'm a newb but there is tons of this kind of info under FAQ's at the top of the forum...just FYI.
