I have heard it can take 2-6 weeks for your primary application to be verified. Can I really expect it to take until mid-July before I get my app verified and can start punching out secondaries? Does it depend more on when I send in my primary? Does mid-late June cause significantly longer wait times than the first day (even though the site often crashes due to overload)? Looking for some reasonable time frame so I know what to tell letter writers and if my MCAT score coming in late July will be there before my app is verified. Can I start filling out secondaries before I get my MCAT score back?

So first off - verification occurs without the MCAT score OR your letters of recommendation. You can submit on June 1, and get verified, get your app sent to medical schools, and fill out secondaries all before your MCAT scores or letters are uploaded. However, a school won't actually review your app until you upload those things.

I submitted AMCAS 6/17, was verified 7/11. I was still in the second interview day at two schools and did not pre-write any secondary essays. Just get it in when you can. Get the secondary questions from SDN school specific threads if the schools don’t send it to you and write your responses ahead of time
