Hey all,

I will be starting an observation gig at an outpatient clinic on Wednesday and will be spending a total of 60 hours there. Is that an adequate amount of time to ask for a LOR?? I know that I will be somewhat limited in what I can do because he made it clear that it will be an observation role, but I'm hoping I can make some kind of impression on him so he will be willing to write me one. Thoughts or tips? Thanks!

60 sounds fine. As long as you feel the PT can give you a good LOR. Obviously 10 hours is not enough, but if you're proactive during your observations, you should be fine!

Even if you do 20 hours, you can still ask. The pt knows that, legally, you can't do more than watch anyway. So the number of hours doesn't really matter. He or she should do it for you out of understanding.
