I want to deal with DAT only once and not retake so I just wanted to hear different opinions. Cramming for next 1.5 month (only DAT) or study until may of next year , studying bit at a time?
Thanks in advance.

2-3 months of intense study is considered the norm (you should make this thread into a poll).

Like coaches say in the NFL... 'I'm going to run him until the wheels fall off'.

I would do this so you don't have to reschedule your test date...

Register for the DAT without picking a date. This gives you one year to take it before the registration expires. Then start studying, whether it be slow, intense, half-ass or whatever, and when you feel ready, then pick a date. You should be able to find availability at the Prometric 2 weeks out which means you have 2 weeks from that point to review.

I would absolutely take advantage of the opportunity to get this thing out of the way sooner rather than later. Get it done and you won't have to worry about it anymore. Not only that but if you study less hours a day over the course of almost a year, there is an excellent chance of getting "lapped" by the material. What I mean is say you start studying tomorrow. And finish studying in May. By the time you reach the end of your review you might have forgotten alot of info from the beginning. 100% take it now if you can. There is a 6 week study plan from Dental Works in the DAT forum. It is very well thought out. It looks pretty rigorous but some people swear by it. Good luck

I did that plan and yes I agree it's very well structured, however my suggestions is to use that as a backbone and incorporate supplemental materials to it! make the backbone "saturated" in other words! Hope that makes sense.

No idea how to make it into a poll 😕

Other people, thank you~. I asked because I see lots of SDN predental studying for 2 months and do well while I talked to this guy who studied for 8 months (while taking classes) and score 24AA.
