Being 40 now with a Bachelors degree, but no premed courses, how long roughly would it take me to go from premed to attending physician/ associate professor in Psychiatry?

What would be the length of time?

Just curious.

My estimate is at least 10 years to attending: 2 years post-bac, 4 years med school, 4 years psych residency

+/- time to work on EC's, MCAT, and other stuff required to get in to med school

Premed plus MCAT: two years
Med school: four years
Psychiatry residency: four years

That would make you an attending physician eligible to become an Assistant Professor. Associate Professor would probably take an additional 8-10 years after residency depending on your institutional promotion policies, your scholarly output, and other factors.
