I've heard anywhere from 8,000 to 20,000. Tell us how many applicants you have heard there are at present. I'm guessing there's a large range and the point of this poll is to show that nobody really knows for sure, I guess.

I keep hearing people say that there are like 10-15k right now....and that this flood is really making things hard on not only adcoms but applicants as well...but i was reading something the other day that says that there arent necessarily that many more applicants this year..its just that basically EVERYONE is finally heeding the "apply early" policy..which has flooded the applicant pool...i'm not doubting there are more applicants this year than in years past..i just dont think its as astronomical as some people assume

As of September 1, there was 7,269 applicants compared to 6,332 at this same point last year. The grand total for last year was 10,666 (in 2001 there were a total of 6,378 applicants).
