How many Blocks of QUESTIONS (not intro/survey) are there on the Step 2 CK?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
And if you skip the intro to gain break time, does the very first block/set of questions start of as "BLOCK 2" on the screen rather than BLOCK 1?
I almost had an MI when this happened to me on Step 1.

Oh, and one last GAD fulfilling question, if you take Step 2 in June or July, how long on the avg to get the score? 4 wks?

First real block I believe it said: "Block 2 of 9"

Block 1 = introduction

I would not skip the intro completely. Make sure your headphones work ok.

Nobody can predict when the score report will come back, especially during high volume times. Allow 3-6 weeks.
It seems during low volume times that 3-4 weeks is the average.
The reports come out on Wednesday at 11 AM EST. You get an e-mail about an hour before announcing that you will get your score.

This thing always bugged me in Step 1 and 2 CK. It was kind of scary when I did Step 1 and after I skipped the Intro, I started at Block 2. It kept bugging me whether or not I skipped the first block of questions, until I noticed there are 8 blocks not 7 (in Step 1). But it annoyed me the entire time because I also assumed that the NBME survey at the end of the exam was considered to be block 8. At least that is what it said in the First Aid. They need to update that section...

Still they should mark the first block with something clear, like "Intro Block", and start numbering the question blocks with 1.
