Whats the average time and amount of sleep you get as a pre-pharm or pharmD student?
Oh man.. last school year I averaged 5-6 a night, but last semester and this semester I usually get 8-10.
This was in College?Freshman and sophomore year, I had an average of 6 to 7 hours while my junior and senior year I had an average of about 5 to 6 hours on weeks with no exams.
For some reason this thread makes me think about how sweet those tempurpedic mattresses are...
when i'm in school, i try to aim for bed somewhere in the midnight-2am range, since i get up at 7. I have 2 or 3 cups of mountain dew from the fountain with my coco puffs or cinnamon toast crunch, then i'm good for a while. I might take an hour nap before i get dinner too.
Weekends and when i'm home over breaks, i'm still tired with 10 hours or more.
wow, I can't believe undergrads are complaining about lack of sleep already. LOL, compared to pharmacy school, it's nothing. Wait until your P2 year to start complaining about not getting enough sleep. Hahahaha
Why do I care? I'd get even less sleep if i had a kid now hahaDoesn't mountain dew lower the sperm reproductions (assuming you are a boy)

Yeah I heard p2 is rough. But for me I won't be working nearly as much so I'd imagine I won't get any less sleep than now. And I won't have to stress about that gpa as much (not that it won't be tough don't get me wrong). The last two nights I got about 4 but tonight I'm shooting for 7 or 8
Heck yeah. I got one of the 3 inch toppers to go on my matress. Now I don't want to leave my bed.
I usually get 5-7 hours a night and once a week maybe like 9.
And u are at UT right? Well that is very encouraging! How do you manage all that sleep now, and not before?
most pharmacy students have to work through their pharmacy school. One for keeping student loans low and paying living expenses, the other is because internships are how you constantly refresh what you learned.
P2 year was an endless cycle of class from 8 to 3:30 then study at barns & noble until they close at 11, get few hours of sleep. Rinse and repeat for the weekdays and use the weekends to work 2 internships to pay bills. Going to the grocery store and the gym were my study breaks. It was depressing.![]()
There has been study that people who sleep 6-7 hours a day tend to live longer than others who sleep less or more.
Here's the proof.
