How many interviews do you think you are safe for an acceptance spot?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
If you really want to be a dentist - 1 interview. You will be well prepared and enthusiastic, confident, etc.

If you go in cold, you may need a second interview. After going through one, you should be able to nail the second one.

If it takes any more, something is wrong.

IMO of course.

Any opinions?

I'd say at least 3 based on that one post with interview to acceptance ratios. Go to as many as you can afford or until you find "the one"...but until Dec 1, I will be attending every single one I get invited to. Good luck!

I agree with both posts above. It should only take 1, but the competition is so fierce now that you really can't risk it. I will be attending all my interviews until dec 1st.

Yes, this is a good question, I will go to as many as I think is reasonable, so far I have 4 and I plan to attend each one. Hopefully I will get more and if the times overlap I will make choices but I plan to attend them all.

Depends on which schools they are with 🙂

hopefully i only need a couple

I have a question.

Is the probability of acceptance lessened if the interview is after December 1st?
I got one on sept, and two after next year.

It depends on the school, but in many schools your chances are signifigantly diminished,

well, considering theres about a 50/50 chance you'll get accepted after an interview, you'd have to go to around 5 or 6 interviews (statistically) to ensure acceptance (i.e. that would give you under a 4% chance that you wouldn't get accepted to any of those)
