Is there a number of invites that you would feel is just too much?
I second what has been said. I would add, as many as you can get if you are not that competitive. You can be more picky if you know you are a competitive applicant.
I'm freaking out over the fact that I have 9 interviews in the upcoming 5 weeks (and maybe even a tenth after that). It's going to be hard to stay on top of everything BUT I'm not going to miss any of these interviews until I get an acceptance in hand.Is there a number of invites that you would feel is just too much?

I'm not in school this year, so there is no issue of flunking out, only an issue of getting fired. 😛
Luckily I'm in grad school so I am just focusing on making sure I get my work done for my 2 classes, do 15 hours of research every week, and get all assignments graded for the class I TA (as well as attend those classes). It's going to be a struggle for the next 3 or 4 weeks, but hopefully I can do it.I don't know how you all can manage all that and not flunk out of school!
I have like 5 spread over 5 weeks and this is enough to make me have to reschedule like 4 tests and miss about a dozen lectures! (Could be partially due to fact that I'm mainly applying to schools in a different region than my undergrad so its impossible to have a one day trip)
