How many interviews invites would you be content with?

there is no such a thing as too many interviews as long as you have no accpetence!

I have 6 so far and I would attend 60 if I didn't have an acceptance in hand.

I'm with the two before me. As many as it takes to get an acceptance 👍

I second what has been said. I would add, as many as you can get if you are not that competitive. You can be more picky if you know you are a competitive applicant.

Yeah but I still wouldn't be picky until you have an acceptance in hand. I feel that every year people start making threads about declining interviews even though they have not been accepted anywhere yet. Just because you have a 36 mcat and a 4.0 gpa does not guarantee you acceptance. There are so many variables in this process, many out of your control and one huge factor is interview. I like to think the numbers get you the interview, the interview gets you the acceptance. Many people screw up the interview because they are socially awkward or just a poor interviewer.

Is there a number of invites that you would feel is just too much?
I'm freaking out over the fact that I have 9 interviews in the upcoming 5 weeks (and maybe even a tenth after that). It's going to be hard to stay on top of everything BUT I'm not going to miss any of these interviews until I get an acceptance in hand.

I agree with what everybody else has said, but in the event that you get an acceptance after your first interview and you have more interviews, then it would just be a matter of going to interview to the places that interest you the most.

I don't know how you all can manage all that and not flunk out of school!

I have like 5 spread over 5 weeks and this is enough to make me have to reschedule like 4 tests and miss about a dozen lectures! (Could be partially due to fact that I'm mainly applying to schools in a different region than my undergrad so its impossible to have a one day trip)

I have five in the next two weeks.

I'm not in school this year, so there is no issue of flunking out, only an issue of getting fired. 😛

My strategy is to go to all interviews I get until I get an acceptance to one of my top choices. When that happens, I'll be a little more selective and likely withdraw from several places I've applied.

As others have said, you keep going until you know you've gotten in somewhere.

Luckily I'm in grad school so I am just focusing on making sure I get my work done for my 2 classes, do 15 hours of research every week, and get all assignments graded for the class I TA (as well as attend those classes). It's going to be a struggle for the next 3 or 4 weeks, but hopefully I can do it.
