How many interviews should I accept? Anyone have experience getting rejected following interview?

I've underestimated how expensive flying out for interviews is but I also want to be on the safe side for acceptances. For context, I think I am on the lower side in terms of stats. I have a higher oat but a very low GPA.

I know with med schools a lot of the time only a quarter or even less of their interviewees get an offer. I was wondering if there are any comparable trends with optometry schools.

If you don't mind, sharing your OAT and GPA would help. The answer I've typed out below is an "in general" response that might not apply to you.

But the good news is that optometry school is not similar to med school in this regard. If you are offered an interview there is a very good chance you will be accepted at most optometry schools (unless you're looking at Berkeley or Waterloo or something). I think close to 90% of people offered an interview at ICO are later offered a spot in the class. If you are confident you can explain why you want to be an optometrist, why your GPA is on the lower side, and why you want to go to [blank] school, then I would say you don't need to accept many interviews. Interviews are more about seeing if you are a good fit at the school than seeing if you are to be accepted or not. You are interviewing the school as much as they are interviewing you!
