how many interviews so far?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
None as well. Still waiting on verification.

I had one at Kentucky on Oct. 2, and have one scheduled at Louisville on Nov. 7.

Good luck, you guys will be getting interviews soon.

I have these scheduled but haven't even gone to one yet 🙂

St. Louis University
George Washington
Georgetown
Tulane
UC San Diego

As Jamier2 noted...hey, it's REALLY early in the process still, so hang in there. Yours will be coming for sure. Let us know...I may be living through you shortly 😀

Submitted 7/6. Not yet verified. All secondaries returned (9) but still waiting to hear anything from #10, Stanford. No interviews yet.

I submitted 6/23. All of my secondaries are in (9). I have received 4 invites:
Minnesota
SLU
MCW
KCOM (osteopathic)
I think I will be hearing from my other state school next week (Minnesota Duluth) one way or the other about an interview.

I'm at five:

University of Chicago (10/2)
Northwestern (10/31)
Mount Sinai (12/6)
UMNDJ-Newark (10/5)
UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson (10/9)

Submitted AMCAS 6/24, verified 9/4.

AMCAS submitted 7/7
Committee letter received by schools 9/17

Had both my in-state (FL) interviews this past week. Had a great time at both!

I have a theory to propose on the subject of interview selection...

31 (9,11,11) 3.85 Math/Chem major
was good enough to get early interviews in-state, but I think the schools I'm applying to out of state (all 31+ averages) are going to wait until they interview the bigger numbers that have submitted thus far and those from the August test before trickling down to me. I'm willing to hear any justifiable support/rebuttal 😉

3 so far:

Cornell (10/30)

Completed: Ohio State U (9/26)

Upcoming: U Cincinnati (10/15)

USef : I think your theory is compelling and may also explain my experiences thus far.

Just one invite for me (Duke). I hope I get a few more after my August scores arrive. Is Duke rolling ad?

Four so far!

Case Western 10/9
Temple 10/22
EVMS 11/2
WVU (supposed to be 10/19, but trying to change that)

Anyone gonna be at any of these places 'round then? 🙂

2 so far
OSU on 10/17
MCO on 11/01 (i wanted 10/25, but oh well...)

two so far. My state school (done) and U of Iowa (10/22).

Not verified YET!!! 14 weeks and counting...

I just finished my 3rd and final interview (only applied to three schools). Now the waiting begins...

Mine were:
UT Houston - 9/14
Baylor - 9/21
UTMB - 10/12

I submitted AMCAS on 7/5, and TMDSAS on 7/7. AMCAS is still not verified, but Baylor went around them.

Baylor (done)<--waiting for Oct 15th!
Rochester (11/5)
Einstein (11/6)
Columbia (11/7)
UCSD (10/22)

UIC MD program (done on 10/10) I really didn't like it.

Still have UCSF, U of Wisconsin, and U of Michigan in November. All three are MSTP interviews. Really excited about these ones.

I submitted on 7/20 but haven't seen a thing. I've just given up hope on AMCAS. All the schools I am applying to except for Stanford are accepting unverified apps. So, I guess I may just have to give up my hopes of going to school on the farm :-(

5 interview requests so far...

Cornell 10/4
Columbia 10/11
Mt. Sinai 10/18
Yale 10/19
Boston University 10/22

Needless to say, the first two are done and went well...

7 interview invitations:

UVA
Georgetown
EVMS
Penn State
NYMC
Maryland
Mount Sinai

Hey all...had Rochester today. Was pretty nice, albeit really far from NYC!

Done:
Columbia
Cornell
U of Rochester

Soon:
U of Chicago
Georgetown
SUNY Downstate
BU
Mt. Sinai

Done:
SLU 9/18
Tulane 9/19 (put on hold)
Baylor 9/21
U mich 9/28
Case Western 10/12

None schedualed after that. All of them are on int feedback.

9 so far...

5 in texas- ut houston, tx. A&M, galevston, tech, san antonio

4 AMCAS- Baylor, Tulane, GW, and U Chicago

Tx. interviews everyone really early and plus you get an acceptance to only 1 school (its a match process), so even though my total # of interviews seems high, it is actually a bit inflated...also, im denying tech, so that makes 8 that im actually going to so far...

good luck everyone- they're rolling in everyday... 🙂

😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 🙂 🙂

Got my third yesterday!

U of Florida 10/5
U of South Florida 10/8
U of Chicago 10/25 or 11/1 or 11/8

waiting to see if Northwestern will interview me in the same week. I kinda feel greedy.. i get one awesome school to offer an interview and the same hour I am calling another one asking for an interview 😉

..my theory still holds about the numbers. My U Chicago secondary was sent in July and many were interviewed by the time they got to mine, so we'll see how this turns out.

i think your theory is the way it's actually done, especially at schools that put more of an emphasis on numbers from the get-go. first the stats superstars get the interviews, and as time goes by, once there are no more superstars, schools interview the people with lower stats as they try to fill their classes and their waiting lists. so this is why this thread is really more of an ego boost than anything for those with lots of interviews, because interviewing early just means that your numbers may be pretty good, but it doesn't necessarily reflect your chances for admissions. so those without a lot of interviews, don't fret!! interviewing goes on until april/may! 😀

You're right sand- some of us don't feel the need to stroke ourselves cos of multiple interviews! (can i say that? ;-) --Trek

have these interviews...gone to none of them!!! cancelled the ones close to the incident on september 11...

SUNY Downstate
SUNY Buffalo
SUNY Binghampton
Texas A&M
UTMB Galveston
Medical College of Wisconsin
Vanderbilt
GWU

right now I'm at 12 invites, but I think that I'm going to start cancelling them pretty soon, 'cause it's having an incredibly bad impact on my grades. (I think that some of the schools will be notifying us as soon as Monday 🙂 ) and if I'm in somewhere in any of my first interview schools, I'll definitely think very hard about cancelling some of my unconfirmed invites.

still haven't met any other SDN'ers after 7 interviews... where are you guys?

I'm in a somewhat similar situation. The thing that really irritates me is that most of these schools WILL NOT allow you to reschedule until next year. I'm getting to the point now that if the school wont reschedule for next year, then I'm giving them an AUTOMATIC rejection, and I'll tell them that right over the phone too 😀

I'm graduating in December, and it would be incredibly nice to deal with some of these interviews after classes are over. My GPA is definitely going to slip this semester. I know, its no big deal at this point but I've worked very hard to keep it up high and now basically at the last minute before graduation its frustrating to see it drop. The class material itself is not that hard, but at some point it becomes very hard to do well in classes when you are never there because of interview trips.

I didnt correctly anticipate the amount of planning some of these trips require. Its not like you can just set up everything in 30 minutes over the internet and be done with it. And then theres the MD/PhD aspect at some of these schools which basically DOUBLES the amount of time I would usually be gone from class due to an MD only interview.

OK, done ranting. Good luck to all you guys. Coming thru this process I'm not nearly as intimidated by these schools as I was before this stuff began. I have a little less awe for these schools, even the big hot shots out there.

I've gotten 12 invites as well, though 5 of them are from Texas schools, and I am a TX resident. I certainly hope to hear from somewhere soon!

Interesting point. The new tootsie roll question: "How many threads are needed to say the exact same thing in different ways?"

Recent Thread Subjects Include:
- What Secondaries/Interviews have you completed?
- Schools Requesting Interviews
- What Interviews Have you Gotten?
- How many Interviews so far?

I can understand one, but aren't all these just variations of each other, with the same people posting in different ways? Kinda funny actually. And yes Trek, you can say that, as long as you don't do it, or heaven forbid, make me have a mental image of it. Oops, too late. 😳 😉
