how many interviews has tufts given out for february and march??

hell lot
edit: well they accept 80% of interviewees...
they will interview around 400+ for 165 seats.
If that "80%" turns out to be true, then A LOT of people will have to deny offer

I spoke with them today. They've overbooked their interview spots.😡

Good thing is, many people are opting for other schools now, so it shouldn't really be a problem.

tamkhan, what do you mean? OVERBOOKED? WHAT DO YOU MEAN???

They usually schedule 12 people per day. Are they cramming?

Well, I called today to see if I could possibly grab an earlier date than the one I scheduled before, since I have a deposit deadline for another school. The lady told me that it is highly unlikely that any spot will open up in the next week because 'we've overbooked our interviews'. I HOPE that doesn't mess up our chances, especially the ones who are interviewing later in the cycle, close to end of Feb.

I'm just gonna go ahead and think that she kinda said it in a hurry, and didn't really mean it.

Send the deposit and interview. It sucks to lose the deposit but it is better than going to a school that you originally though is second best among the acceptances.

When she said overbooked - I think she meant they put in 13-14 students per interview session instead of usual 12. Could be due to timing problems or so on. Dont think they are over interviewing people.

Yeah, hopefully, you're right.

i honestly don't remember it being 80%...or ~320/400 when i was there for my interview. they gave us all the statistics but i can't find where i wrote those to save my life. i coulda sworn that it was closer to maybe 65% overall acceptance rate after interview, which is just a bit lower than what you said, but 80% just seemed to high from what i remembered at my interview.

I got 80 % from someone who recently interviewed there. Maybe they got it wrong. I have also read around 70%. But anyways, thats what I thought , 80% seems way high. Schools usually shoot for 30-40%.

I hope I still have a chance since my girlfriend and I are interviewing there soon and we both want to get in, awkward situation since she got into NYU and I have not. So, lets hope for the best.

I did interview there and they had the statistics written on the chalkboard and it did say that 70-80% of all Interviewees get accepted. Needless to say, getting an interview at Tufts is a great sign. The student who's house I stayed at during the interview told me the same thing.

Denticus, do they have a program where you get to stay at students place?

Yeah, it's called the Mormon Mafia! hehehe:meanie:. Just kidding, no, at BYU they have a list of past students (now in various dental schools) in a pre-health office who signed up to be willing to host at the school that current dental applicants are interviewing at, such as myself.

BYU really has it down though for all pre-health/professional programs. 1) BYU has contracts with Delta, JetBlue, Southwest, and Continental which (my experience has been) literally cuts the prices of airfares in half, even the best prices that I could find on the internet paled in comparison to the fares I got through BYU travel services. 2) I interviewed at 7 schools this year and at EVERY school, I acquired air-port pick-ups and accomidations at various BYU almni households to help cut costs. This worked out nice because I was able to get most of my questions answered by the BYU alumnus whose house I was staying at. I figure that I've saved close to 2500-3000 dollars through the interview process alone. I would suggest to anybody applying to dental school to check with their school to see if they have contracts lined up with airlines.

Do you think they are still accepting such a large percentage of the interviewees this late (I interview the end of this month)?

Thanks

when r u interviewing?
i'm on the 25th

I am on the 28th.

I am stoked on the interview, but I am also excited to party it up in Boston. My buddy goes to Tufts med school and he has an exam that Friday, so it should be a good time.

there was a snowday a few weeks back, which closed the school during what would have been an interview day. so they are probably rescheduling those people who missed their chance to interview, which is why they are overbooked

i got an interview today.. Really excited! anyone have any advice for me? thanks!
