How many have to be from GI people vs. non GI people? There is a person in my continuity clinic that would be able to comment on my bedside manner, knowledge base, etc. would she be okay to include?

If the most positive personal letter about you will come from a non GI who knows you best than use them, otherwise GI preferably with a reputation/connection to the program you are applying (IE," aww yes so how is so n so doing ??? Great can't wait to see them soon!.....so when can ya start?";Insert awkward fake laughter in response to lame joke)

That's fine. But you need letters from GI faculty. Should be doing research and/or rotating on consult service.
