How many more do you send?
Obviously there's the committee one, and doc rec, and how many after that? is 3 extra too many (one from another doc, one from volunteer coord, one from another prof?)
thanks!

I just sent what each school requested because some schools are really picky on only sending them what they ask for.
Additionally, I am sure no one is going to ask additional letters from sources that wouldn't write them a good LOR, so I figured what was requested would suffice as opposed to sending 3 additional *good* LORs.
Never send more than 6. This is the "magic number" you should never go over. I was the president of the pre-med society at my undergrad school adn had to meet with numerous admission's directors. They all said never more than 6.
Make sure the letters you get are great ones. Make sure the person writing them can say more than..."they were a great student. They got A's in my class." You need more than that.
Fo those who have just started this pre-med journey... I would encourage you to get to know your professors personally. Stop by their offices and chat with them. Build your relationships now so you will not have to search for people to write great LORs for you.
