For anyone that has worked as a medical scribe, I was wondering how many of the locations you applied for actually called you back?

I applied to work as a scribe for 10+ different locations about a month ago, and the only location that has called me back would require me to commute for 1 hr 30 (if I stay on college campus) or 45 minutes (if I stay at home). I am trying to scope out what the chances are for me to have the opportunity to work at a closer location.

I applied through ScribeAmerica, Physassist, and CEP. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I think it can just really depend on whether they're hiring - I only applied to one and they got back to me quickly because they were having a bunch of turnover with people leaving for school; I applied around mid-July. At my current site there's a ton of new people starting now so hopefully you'll hear something within the next month! I think a lot of it also depends on the availability of scribe jobs in your location - I was in a location that was expanding their company a lot at the time and wasn't in an area that was oversaturated with premeds

I applied through SA, and was hired at a particular site (the process took about a 1-1.5 months I think). A few months later, some of the other SA sites also emailed me because they had openings they probably didn't have initially, and I believe because my central app was still on file. I think they also like it if you express continued interest if all of their slots at one of their sites is full at any particular time. Also, to increase your chances of getting hired, give them a lot of availability.

Thanks for the advice! For SA, how were you able to express continued interest? Were you able to somehow show that you really wanted to work at a particular location? I can't seem to find how to directly contact specific locations I applied for in SA.

Thank you for the help! So would you suggest I wait for a closer location to open up?
