How many Optometry Schools have you applied for 2011-2012 cycle?

Was wondering the same thing....I think most people apply to 5 schools.

another interesting piece of data:

Last year, there were 2503 applicants applying to average of 5.13 optometry schools according to ASCO. The total matriculated students equals 1639 optometry students for the class of 2014 across all school. If every accepted applicant end up attending an optometry school, then that means 65.48% of applicants to optometry schools gets at least one acceptance. If there were some accepted students who end up not pursuing optometry education at all, then the acceptance rate would be even higher. Even though the number of optometry schools seemed unsettlingly small to me at first, now I realize the demand isn't big enough to warrant more schools, and the acceptance rate is actually quite high. I wonder what the acceptance rate is for other health professional programs like dental, physical therapy, pharmacy, and medical schools, etc.

I applied to 8 which now I realize was overkill. I still wasn't very sure where I wanted to go at the time. Wish I would have figured it out sooner and saved some $ haha.

I applied to 7. I applied to my top 3, 3 that are in the middle for me, and 1 as a back up. I'm still not sure where I want to go though.

Darn. And I thought I had the most applications. I applied to 13.

13? 20?...damn. I applied to 5 and the fees and costs just keep adding up. How are you guys dealing with the costs of 20 and 13?
