How many patients does a dentist have on average?

To those in the know,

About how many patients would a dentist have if he/she ran, say, a 2 or 3 op practice with a couple of hygienists? Or how many people would make up the patient base for a dentist working alone?

PS: Assume the dentist works 5 days a week and 8 hours a day.

PPS: How much on average would someone like that make?

If you want this question answered, the best thing to do is get on the Dentaltown website which also has a forum section very similar to SDN. Register with them the same way, then post your question to real practicing dentists. They are very nice and will help out a ton regarding this type of a question. Hope this helps, Kew
