For schools with a large class size, such as BU, NYU, etc...

If about ~250 people matriculate, approximately how many applicants received an acceptance? Just trying to get some estimates...

i can't answer specifically, but about 9000 (give or take 1000) apply to the dental schools for about 4500 spaces. so really, about half of the applicants get accepted somewhere.

It all depends on the school and how fast they can fill their class. I would imagine that the final figure represents about 1/2 to 1/3 the amount of acceptance letters mailed out.

So if half the people get in to a school then there must be more then that many acceptances sent out. That’s a reassuring statistic.

yes, but keep in mind some people are accepted to 2, 3, or 5+ schools.

the bottom line is that out of about 9,000 applicants (the total number of AADSAS numbers), there are about 4,500 seats in dental schools. so yeah, when you see all these figures like 450-500 applicants for a class size of 50 or 60, don't get scared. remember, a lot of people apply to a lot of schools... and of those 500, 200 or 250 might be accepted... but most might make plans at a different school so the class size is just 50.
