And for those people: where are they at now? Still trying to get into med school? Different career path?

The med forums are pretty good for info on matching though. Basically everyone in my class looking at a more competitive specialty is at least a casual observer of chances threads haha.

This is true. I know people that failed. That's why I was motivated to see what mistakes pre-meds make during the process, and make a large post about it.

Those not using the step forums are missing out a lot of great information. Say what you will about the neuroticism, but the study info and guidance I found on here were a big help for the MCAT and steps 1/2.
