I’m just curious, how many people on this forum (whether current or former members) never made it to med school?

And for those people: where are they at now? Still trying to get into med school? Different career path?

I kinda doubt they would still be hanging around on here to answer that question.

Many obviously. A not-very-scientific way of estimating that nonetheless shows the discrepancy is comparing the number of active users in the pre-med forums to those in the med student forums.

Or maybe they did get into medical school but don't want to go to the med student forums because they're uninterested in seeing the same five people hash out the reasons that PAs are ruining everything over and over again.

The med forums are pretty good for info on matching though. Basically everyone in my class looking at a more competitive specialty is at least a casual observer of chances threads haha.

I thought it was the DNPs who were ruining everything?😵

Those not using the step forums are missing out a lot of great information. Say what you will about the neuroticism, but the study info and guidance I found on here were a big help for the MCAT and steps 1/2.

I know tons of people who went into healthcare consulting or other stem-ish fields

The line they always said at my undergrad (Emory) was 1/3 start premed, 1/10 go to med school

I never made it with the ladies till my boys told me something I'd missed

I liked this and then unliked it so I could like it for a second time.
