Hey guys how many prelim or transitional spots are you applying to? I know it's been asked but I can't decide if I have applied to enough. Guess I'm just alittle nervous. Thanks

i think it depends on the programs you are applying to. some are quite competitive. most people applying derm are competitive enough to land those spots, but they are not a sure thing by any means.
i applied to around 10 -- most were competitive, one or two were kind of sure things but i didn't even get an interview at one of those 😱

Prelims count differently from transitionals. So the minute you put down money to apply to both under ERAS, you've automatically bought yourself the right to apply to 10 prelims and 10 transitionals for no additional money.

That really ought to be enough and even for someone who kept my intern year interviews local, it was draining to go to so many interviews for 1-yr positions.

do we have to pay for each prelim/TY program we apply to on top of all the derm programs? thanks if anyone could clarify

they are separate for derm, trans, and prelim
