I'm just curious that how many school people usually applying for.
I'm going to apply 22 schools, since I have low GPA around 3.3BCP.
Is it bad to apply that much school??
How many schools did you apply and what are they??
Is there certain schools that tends to accept those lower GPA applicants?
Thanks...

I think it depends on your stats on how many schools you apply to.

I applied to 7 (2 in state and 5 out of state) and have interviews at 5.

My stats are 19/20/23 3.83 GPA

I applied to 13 schools because I don't have a state school and I thought my low gpa would hurt my chances - but so far I've gotten 8 interview invites. I would think that applying to more than 15 schools is overkill, if you research each school and find out what each one wants, but it's not going to hurt you to apply to 22 schools.

In my case I think my DAT scores combined with a lot of intangible, extracurricular stuff along with doing well in upper-division science courses made up for my low science gpa.

5... but realized after submitting my apps that one of them do not take int'ls... 😡. So far 2 interview invites, still waiting for 2 to reply.
Cheers😀

WTF!?!? why so many. i've only applied to 3. i would like to apply to more, but seeing how it would cost almost 2k just for apps, tack on a few more hundred for secondaries, and lets say i get interviews at half of those i could expect at least a few more grand on all the flights and hotels...

well i don't know about the rest of the SDN'ers out there, but i just don't have the loot for that mess. good luck though

I did not get in last year, and as a re-applicant I decided I was not going to go through this crap 3 times no matter how much it cost. This time (being my second time), I applied to 20! I have interviewed with 8 schools, so it was worth it even though I spent a truck load of money. I am sure that with 8 I will have a few options..... I sure hope so anyway....

26 officially but 29 on AADSAS (didnt want to do 3 of the secondaries for the schools). I have 10 interviews so far and i hope with some luck i can have choices of where i want to go.

Wow...that's alot, do you mind putting your stats? That might give the reason for 10 interviews. I'm sure if someone applied to a lot of schools but didn't have a great GPA or DAT then they still wouldn't get interviews. Sure the number of schools you apply to is important to consider, but be reasonable and looks at your stats compared to the averages at the schools. You don't want to waste you money applying to a school who has a 3.8 gpa when you only have a 3.2, unless you have an AMAZING DAT. It does get expensive with applications, secondary fees, the DATs...

I applied to 14, which I thought was sufficient but I only have 1 interview so far. I think the average # of schools is 10.

I was wondering how were your GPA and DATs since you have 8 interviews. I applied last year too and did not get in anywhere and am also reappying, but have only 1 interview so far. Did you get interviews last year? thanks

i applied to 11, and there are a couple more that i would've applied to had i put more thought into it. i have 4 interviews, 2 schools that want to wait to review my app after they see this semester's grades, 2 rejections, and 3 i haven't heard from yet.
3.62 GPA, 3.56(i think) SCI
AA 19
RC 22
PAT 21
SCI 18

applied to 10, finished 2ndaries to 8 (4Cali+4OutState)
interviews now at 6, was delayed finishing the other 2

mind asking what your stats were before and after?

Since so many of you are applying to many schools.. Within the secondaries that actually question how many schools and to which ones are you applying to...Do you actually answer that truthfully? Do you think it hurts your application??

Yes, answer truthfully becuase they can see how many schools you applied to. I asked one of the girls that works at admissions people at NYU and they can totally see the list on aadsas. But then again, I hope they know that not all people go through with applying to all the schools stated on aadsas.

I myself applied to 13 on aadsas but only ended up fully completing 9 applications.

I applied to 13 on aadsas, completed 11 secondaries and I have 8 interviews so far.

I've applied to 13 schools with 2 interviews and 3 rejections. That leaves 8 that I've yet to hear from.
