I was thinking about like 20 at the minimum.. my grades are on the lower end. I'm applying to mostly out of states, as I am californian.

However, I'm scared how much applications/interviews/travelling will cost.. 🙁.

You should apply to them all...there is no way they could all reject you.

There are seriously 2 threads on here talking about applying to many schools...i dunno maybe you could find something useful in them. The only real solution for reducing application cost is improving your application and applying to less schools.
