I am a rising senior with a 3.4 overall and about a 3.0 science GPA at a small liberal arts school known for it's lack of grade inflation. I have not yet taken the MCAT. I want to apply this school year to various post-bac programs to enhance my record. I don't care too much about the name, but I would like the program to be more formal for the guidance. Right now, I'm looking at Harvard, UConn, Penn, Berkeley, Washington University, Wellesley, Duquesne, Temple, and American.

I really don't know how hard any of those programs are to get into, so I'm wondering how many of them I should apply to. I'm from California, and wouldn't mind staying closer to home, but there doesn't seem to be programs for students who are not minorities or disadvantaged close to home. Are there any other programs that are similar to the ones I've listed that I should be looking into?

Thanks for any advice people can give me.

Scripps?

The tippity top programs (Goucher, Bryn Mawr) are very competitive - your numbers are a tad low for them - doesn't mean don't try, but don't hold your breath.

But some of the other big names take many if not most applicants, I think...Harvard, Columbia, and Penn, for instance...

Someone is posting some pretty damning stuff about Berkeley on another thread - look for it...

The cost to attend some of these is enormous...my rec would be to do it near where you live, or where you could live with family...
