How many seats would you say are left for NSU-COM up to this point? Please don't give some random guess, if you have prior experience or some sort of knowledge respond. Let's do our best to be as honest and accurate as possible. So if anyone out there, like current students or those with some sort of prior experience that would allow you to answer this go ahead. I'm basically trying to find out what the chances of there being a seat open for me are.

P.S. Don't reply with something like "no one knows this, it varies per school". That's obvious. Reply if you think you have a rough estimate, no one expects you to know any exact numbers.

Toytles, you forgot about the gentleman that we sent the last acceptance to. It's actually 25.

I must have forgot because I haven't finished processing his acceptance file.

So, Billy Rubin's file is not yet finished? Get this under control now or we're going to have the same issues that we did last year.

You can't rush quality work UT; it takes time to staple all the papers together. It's a shame what happened to Sarah Bellum last year, but that wasn't my fault!

You're right. Last year was clearly not your fault. I just remembered; that is why Diane Cephalon was terminated.

Well, Diane had it coming... she should have never copied Geri Attrick's personal statement into her AACOMAS.

Didn't Diane come highly recommended by Dennis Tree? He is so unreliable nowadays.

24 left now. I just accepted some guy who wrote down "EMT-B 4 lyfe" and had over 500,000 patient contact hours. Didn't even bother to look at the rest of his application or give him an interview. Automatic Acceptance.

Sorry guys for not consulting you; I pulled an Executive Decision on this one!

On a real note: no one knows, seriously. Even if they did, I don't think they're privy to tell you that information.

Just go to your experience day, be the best man you can be, and hope for that acceptance. Your chances here and there don't even matter at this point. Go, and get accepted.

How dare you mention Dennis Tree... that wretched, wretched child. Remember what he did? That one time? Ughh.

You can file the papers for this one. I'm out of staples...

Of course I remember what Dennis did. He got the one and only Eric Shun in. From what I recall, all of the gentlemen in the Dennis Tree group wanted to take on the famed Eric Shun. Either way, Eric most certainly would have forced his way into the Dennis Tree group.

Another thing that Dennis Tree seemed most interested in was taking on Maria Doktor. Without her, he would be nothing.

Dr Wily, I commend you on that executive decision. Half a million pt contact hours did make him stand out. Out of all the Apps this week, that young man could practically run a code with his eyes closed.
So, 24 seats left, which interviewees shall we admit from this week? Do you guys remember that young scholar that went by the name First Incision. What do you guys think about him? He is quite inquisative. He seems to know just the right questions to ask.

His alias, "First Incision", gives me the impression he's not afraid to lead. However, I'm worried about his ability to get along with his classmates and colleagues. He seems to want the impossible from them, asking if they know how many seats are left at our school. Premeds can't call us and ask, so how would they even know? Hmm...

Hopefully he'll make the cut (pun intended), but for now... let's do what all the other med schools do and leave him hanging in unbearable suspense for another 2-3 weeks. It'll give me time to get more staples.

Ha Very entertaining thread ..........Humility is an important quality these days Sounds like you all were trying to teach a valuable lesson

Don't listen to the jerks ahead of me. They are all just messing with you.

But seriously: 19.

How do I know? Psh. DocEspana, I think my only purpose here is to be the stats guy. too bad in this case the number is entirely made up

Clearly I should've worded my question different since most of you thought it was a smug self centered question. I was actually trying to post a legitimate thread in order to maybe see if anyone had some kind of information on the acceptance possibility this late in the application cycle. Like "I got in as late as January last year." This would obviously indicate that they don't fill all their seats quickly and then waitlist alot of students in order to have back-ups. But I guess Toy and UT just didn't have the brain power to figure that out. It has nothing to do with lack of humility. But thanks for all the educated and well thought out feedback, I can see intelligence is very abundant amongst those that replied.

"Obvious" statement wasn't obvious, so don't insult their intelligence. You should have asked that question from the start instead of assuming that we would know exactly what you wanted.

Don't act like this during your interview, and you'll have a shot. Stop psyching yourself out, dude. Forego the stats, just do your best, and see where life takes you.

No use in giving yourself constipation over this.

I told you he was a bad apple, UT. I'm not wasting any staples on his file... I was going to use the purple colored ones too. Your loss, OP.

You caught me, I must flee the country. I be ze traitorz.

It's all office depot had in stock. Besides... navy blue is my favorite color but for staples? Seriously? No... 😎

I vote the use of hot pink staples for the rejection pile.

Here's the first one: some guy named First Inc

Oops got cut off. Oh well

From now on we should use multiple colors to rank our interviewees. We will use one of those loud electric staplers during each interview. We could just randomly load different colors and it wold be like a lottery. That sounds very fair. I'm pretty sure that is how the other schools do it sometimes.

As a co-member of the admissions committee at NSU, I am truly disappointed that you would resort to usin....

oooo... pretty colors. Wait, what was I saying?

When I read the first quote, I see a question asking how many seats, not, do they still give acceptances in January

Guys, how many jelly beans in 30-35 pounds worth. Please, no random guesses or telling me no one really knows. Only highly educated guesses please.

The answer is 12354.54545 small jelly beans or 4011.21505 large jelly beans for a 30lbs. bag.

For a 35lbs bag, you can fit 14413.63636 small jelly beans or 5662.5 large jelly beans.

EDIT: DocE was on the money...

OP, obviously people get accepted in December. Very few med schools (if any) have full classes by now. Come February, my answer will be different.

How many atoms are in a 35 pound bag of jellybeans?

This can be done.

I'm reviewing Carbohydrates for my Ochem2 final right now maybe its in this chapter.

This has to be the funniest thread I've read on SDN, and yes I've seen the pokeman invasion in "thought from someone who considered DO..."
If only I was 6 yrs younger to appreciate that one!

How come you lack the brain power to ask what you want to ask?

Lol. This thread wouldn't have been so fun if he did.

A simple "I'm getting kinda nervous; it's late in the cycle. Do I still have a chance at NSU? I just went to my experience day. Anyone get in around January?"

This thread would have been 4 posts long and done.
