Can one take the MCAT more than three times. I have already taken it twice and planning on taking it for the third time in Jan. If i don't get the score i need.. Can I take it again??
Does it look reallly bad on the application, even if you show improvement on the score?

Any help would be great!!

You can take as many times as you want, but only 3 times in a year. If you take it three or more times though, you should really show significant (several points) improvement for your last test, or steady improvement over all of them.

anything more than 3 is highly frowned upon. For this reason, make sure you are absolutely ready in January (or postpone and take it later). Do not go into the test thinking that if worst comes to worst, you still have another out.

also remember that some school average your scores, so you may show improvement in score but it may not end up making a big different to med schools.

Excellent advice...My state school does this and i didnt feel like i hit the range i was looking for in Sept and voided. A 28 and a 32 come out to be a 30....better get in the ring and punch it one time in the face!!
