In your personal experience, how many times is it acceptable to reschedule an interview (well in advance, at least 3 weeks to a month before) before you really piss off the program coordinator? I guess it depends on the threshold of the PC as well, but was just wondering from past experiences from the people on this forum.

This is especially for those programs who sent out invites in the first two weeks of september, when most others hadnt.

I've never had someone reschedule more than twice. I also once had someone cancel and then call back to reschedule two days later, and this year I've had someone initially decline and then decide to schedule after all. Honestly, I don't find rescheduling an annoyance--as long as applicants realize that options decrease as time passes and I can't create a space on a day that is full. As long as there's an open space on a date you prefer and enough time to fill the spot created when you switch, I think most coordinators are cool with however many reschedulings you need to make your travel schedule work.

That is so good to know! For all that has been said about a bad input from the program coordinator to the PD on the applicant, this is really nice to know that most PCs can work with the applicants to reschedule (as I mentioned - well in advance). Thanks a lot!
