OK As some here know the "Kick sand in the face of Caribbean Medical Students" by US premeds and and US Medical students is a pet peeve of mine since Anecdotal ( I know a friend, relative, friend of a friend crap) saying something is fact without any posting the written verifiable facts, myths and half truths passed around the table by the premeds posted as fact, is my big button.
As a budding Doctor I live in world with evidence based information is used.
I'm so tired of the:
Diploma Mill post ( yes some schools are no doubt but not all and its very immature and unintelligent to post this about ALL Caribbean medical schools)
What happened over 20 years ago happened in a different century, what was 20 years ago in US medicine is ancient history. Lets talk about recent times and what is happening now.
What "MOST" believe, unless a study is available, some kind of real poll or questionnaire then to post what "MOST" think is really nonsense and is anecdotal anyway.
To post the stigma post is also silly and nonsense, a FMG will earn the same for the same job and few patients care as well as few fellow physicians, I will say this, it seems from my 20 years and current CLinicals what seems to be cared about more then anything is the ability one demonstrates as a physician to the fellow physicians and Patients.
To post never, at all costs, avoid the Caribbean, how, why, can some one with a low GPA and MCAT if they want to prove to themselves if they truly want a chance? I did.
Yes of course the US medical schools are a better choice, (I'm so tired of posting this since it is a given) But to think the US is the only place to learn medicine is arrogant and extremely short sight as well as biased
IMHO get a life and deal with the fact many go to medical schools outside the USA and do well.
Just because most premeds ( only about 20 to 30% who consider themselves premeds ) make it to a US medical school is no reason to be immature and post ugly half truths to "KICK SAND IN THE CARIBBEAN STUDENTS FACE" you are just being a BULLY!
To those of good character and understand and debate real issues and willing to look outside the box at times thanks!
Yes my opinion!
