How many to apply? When to take MCAT?

How many medical schools are you all applying?

I am thinking of 25 MD schools and 15 DO schools since I am an international applicant. I have 3.92 overall GPA and 4.00 sGPA Taking MCAT in summer.

P.S. I am taking MCAt in August. Would taking exam this late be highly detrimental for medical school application? Should I take it sooner?

A late MCAT=Late MD application completion, add in selectivity of schools regarding international students (I have a friend going through the same problem) and your app cycle is much tougher. If you need the time take the mcat, wait a year and apply in early to mid June. You need to have every advantage as an international student and need to apply strategically.
