How many transitional interviews to match

Hey guys, just curious as to how many TY interviews you need to match. (just like how people say with 8 ophtho interviews you have a high likelihood of matching)

I am just looking for an estimate b/c I have finished 3 and just want to do 5 more for a total of 8. (this whole process is getting REALLY expensive b/c I have 12 ophtho programs to interview at and wouldn't skip even one of them. I am sure many of you can empathize)

i think it depends on where these programs are. i went on 8 and matched well. i would also add that if you are set on staying in highly desirable locations (LA, SF, NYC, hawaii), you should go on as many interviews as you can. once you find out where you match for ophtho and you decide that the TY program you want to be at is nearby, make sure you are in contact with the TY PD. like ophtho, most TY programs are not interested in going too far down their rank list. your cause will be greatly helped if they like you and know that you are going to be nearby for residency.
