How many waiting lists at Hopkins???? Help

Just found out that my really good friend got on the "alternate list". What does that mean? Does hopkins have more than 1 list? Do they rank people? What is her chance of getting in from this list? F#%(# this pisses me off she is such a sweet, cool, wonderful person I don't wanna see her in pain and suffering!!!!! 🙁

Anyone (current hopkins students, or whoever) who knows info about hopkins please help!
