6 invites, 66 programs applied to, quit counting rejections (obviously I need another invite quickly don't want to be stuck with 3 6's 🙂)

At what point should I be concerned that I only have 3 interviews? (1 from my home program, 1 from an away rotation, and 1 from a neighboring institution that hasn't taken students from my school since the early 90s)

Next week?

Mid-December?

Right freakin now?

it depends on how confident you are in your home program/away program. If you are super tight with all the faculty then maybe you don't need to spend $10,000 on flights/hotels/apps like the rest of us. Maybe 3 is the key for you. :xf::luck:🙂

Ok. Freaked out too soon and found a Wake Forest massive interview packet in my mail today. Warm fuzzy feeling ensued.

I will stop complaining now. 😳
 
only 4, but i want more. i wonder if i will even hit the magic 10.

A positive way to look at things:
I only have 3 but I am happy with the ones I have in terms of quality.

I took out a huge extra loan to cover interview costs.. and am now looking forward to taking a nice big vacation (I'm thinking a 5 week trip) now! 🙂
 
still very few interviews... anyone on the same boat? 🙁

that's what i thought too until today when i got slammed with 8 rejections...all today!!!!!
 
I'm going to need a couple more invites too to feel good.

Way to go sensitive skin! Do you live far from NY since the invites were sent by snail mail?

I've been pretty fortunate with this year's interviews:

16 interviews
10 rejections
2 waitlist

Whoa. I think you are at 100% match rate at this point. Congrats!

I am not a New Yorker, but perhaps I will be one for at least three years... 🙂

Nothing new. I've gotten a few rejections from less renowned programs which I was counting on as "backup." This really worries me because, theoretically, I may be ranked in the middle of all my programs and fail to match.

I received 2 more over the last 2 weeks from unexpected but less renowned programs which was a pleasant surprise.

I had to turn another interview down due to scheduling conflicts.

All in all, I'm pretty happy.

5 so far
1 rejected due to scheduling
1 expected to come soon (home program)
Hoping for 4 more before Christmas but would probably be okay with 1 more. (Oh heck, it's Christmas, the season of taking. I'll take 4 more 🙂)

Closing in on 50 rejects.
