What bio classes would it be best to take before taking the DAT?

for the bio section of the DAT:

In reality, all that you really need is general bio 1 and 2. However upper divisions will help.

I am going to rank them in the order that I think they are important, starting with the most important:

most important -> physiology, genetics, microbiology, molecular biology, biochemistry* <- least important

*It is worth noting biochemistry on this list even though I did not take it before takking the DAT. Now that I am taking it however, I am noticing that I know alot of things in the class that I learned from my DAT prep.

(I believe that you can find everything you need to do well in the bio section out of the campbells biology textbook and study guide. It is worth its weight in gold. Memorize that book and you will be set)

Your suggestion is to memorize a textbook? A little much? Bio on the DAT isn't that comprehensive.

I haven't heard of anatomy being on the DAT, save that stuff for part I. However, whatever anatomy that is used to teach physiology would help (kidney and things like that) + genetics.

um, granted i didnt rock bio (got a 20) but there was no anatomy or biochem.

there was a lot of genetics, physiology, and cell bio, and a couple random histology q's. I didnt have any microbio.

I had some anatomy in my bio section but it was SUPER basic. I think one of the questions was what connective tissue connects bone to bone? I would definitely focus on physiology because it helps tie in a whole lot of concepts that can be covered on the DAT. I also had some ecology questions that dealt with wildlife habitat as well as classification of organisms. I think the class that helped me most on the DAT in the Bio section was my advanced micro class. I would study that stuff a lot.

Oh, I intended to say physiology. It's just that.. at my school, you can't take physio w/o anatomy first. And in our anatomy class, we learn a fair amount of basic physiology (at least enough to prepare you for the DAT). Too bad I wasn't able to take this class before I took my DAT.
